Chapter: 344
Shaking her head, she continued, “Wouldn't that make you angry?"

Phoebe muttered a curse under her breath and tossed the fan aside.

"Mr. Hewitt has crossed a line. This project is a business matter between two companies. It's not a personal issue. He shouldn't interfere with others' opportunities to earn," Phoebe exclaimed in disbelief, her anger rising.

Kaitlyn nodded enthusiastically.

"That's why I confronted him earlier. I think I've let off some steam now," Kaitlin said with a hint of relief.

“That's right, Kaitlin. You shouldn't let anyone treat you as if you're their property. You're your own person. Remember, if you hadn't divorced, would you have been able to work with me?" Phoebe argued.

Their conversation, intended to be soothing, turned into a venting session.

It wasn't until Kaitlin's frustrations seemed alleviated that Phoebe smiled.

“But, Mr. Hewitt just arrived and didn't say anything. Maybe... he came to apologize today?" Phoebe suggested.

“Even if he did, I'm not ready to forgive him just yet," Kaitlin scoffed.

As Alan and Kaitlin reached an impasse, Shawn met with Miguel at a secluded restaurant.

Miguel lifted his glass and studied Shawn with a curious grin.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Murphy. I've heard quite a bit about you," Miguel remarked.

A defiant look flickered in his eyes, catching Shawn's attention.

Shawn managed a restrained smile and decided to cut straight to the chase.

“Thank you for joining me, Mr. Hewitt. I believe we have some business to discuss," Shawn stated plainly.

Miguel's eyebrows arched in curiosity. “Business? But Mr. Murphy, you must be aware that I doesn't manage the Hewitt Group. I'm a crippled man, so I'm not sure what help I could possibly offer," he said, his tone slightly self-deprecating.

“Don't sell yourself short, Mr. Hewitt. Just because you're not in charge of the business now doesn't mean you won't be in the future,"

Shawn countered smoothly.

Miguel scoffed lightly. "Predicting the future now, are we, Mr. Murphy?"

“Not at all. However, we do share a common adversary. Perhaps it's worth exploring a partnership?" Shawn suggested.

Miguel's smile widened. He was waiting for this. Pretending to be nonchalant, he took a casual sip of his drink.

“And how do you envision our cooperation? What exactly do you need from me?" Miguel asked, his voice calm.

Shawn drummed his fingers on the table, his gaze intensifying. "I need inside information on the Hewitt Group. Together, we could take down Alan," he said confidently.
