Chapter: 349
Alan appeared somewhat embarrassed. "I came to see you. These flowers are for you."

Kaitlin eyed the bouquet, hesitated briefly, then accepted it. "Thank you."

Kaitlin inhaled the sweet scent of the flowers.

"Are you done with work? I've made a dinner reservation and would like to take you out," Alan said.

Kaitlin looked at him and let out a huff. "Are you here to take me to dinner? Did you forget we had a fight a few days ago?"

Alan moved closer to her. “I remember. I was wrong. I should not have been jealous."

Kaitlin sneered, “It's not just about the jealousy. You also shouldn't have interfered with my partnership. Gilbert Jewelry was being genuine. How could you do that? If word gets out, who will trust to work with us in the future?"

Alan was taken aback and frowned. "Interfere with your partnership?"

"Yes. Are you denying it?"

Alan replied with a grave expression, "I didn't do it."

Kaitlin studied his face. Alan was not one to lie. If he said he didn't do it, she believed him.

She said, “If it wasn't you, then who could it be? That woman claimed she was your assistant, and Denton met her."

Kaitlin's confusion deepened. She sensed something was amiss. “Really? Then who was behind it?"

Alan's expression darkened with concern. "It seems someone is trying to cause trouble between us. Maybe your competitor."

Neither could confirm their suspicions right away, but Kaitlin realized she had been wrong about Alan.

“Why didn't you clear things up last time?" she asked.

Alan looked somewhat defeated. "The last time we spoke, you didn't let me explain, and I was unaware of this issue before. Kaitlin, can you promise to hear me out calmly, no matter what happens in the future?"

Alan took Kaitlin's hand, causing her heart to flutter.

"Alright, you should know I'm pregnant. My moods might fluctuate more than usual. I'll do my best to keep them in check and avoid getting upset."

Alan nodded, his expression softened. "Shall we go now?"

Kaitlin placed the flowers on her desk and organized the drafts.

“Just a moment. I need to reply to an email."

“Sure, no rush."

Alan sat down and waited calmly.
