Chapter: 358
Alan gave him a cold look and said, "Mr. Murphy, you certainly have your ways."

"I'm flattered. I'm hopeful for a strong finish in the upcoming rounds."

Alan had no interest in prolonging the conversation with someone Like Shawn.

With the first round completed, there was no point in lingering.

Alan got up to leave, with Shawn following suit.

"Mr. Hewitt, are you in such a hurry to leave? Won't you stay a bit longer?"

Alan gave him a cold stare. “I got to go. However, you might want to stay a bit and ask whether it's easy for you to establish your company solidly in Osewood."

Shawn remained unfazed, sensing Alan's irritation, which only broadened his smile.

“Thanks for the heads-up, Mr. Hewitt. But Osewood isn't much different from other places. Our company has excelled internationally, so we'll manage just fine here too."

Alan turned and walked away.

The conversation between Shawn and Alan was clearly overheard by others, who were smart enough to pick up on the tension between them.

Yet, the discord between the big shots had nothing to do with them.

Being associated with Murphy Group could be beneficial.

Shawn stayed a bit longer and was soon encircled by attendees, who tried to win him over.

The topic of Alan came up now and then as people tried to figure out their relationship.

Shawn responded with a knowing smile, “Mr. Hewitt and I hold each other in high regard. Winning this first round might be because Hewitt Group decided to step back."

Shawn, appearing more amiable than Alan, had already made several connections.

It seemed Murphy Group was gaining more favor than Hewitt Group.

Back at his company, Alan sensed something was amiss.

Given Shawn's interest in the Royal Garden Road project, it was impossible for Hewitt Group not to get any news.

Perhaps Shawn had kept his plans under wraps.

"Check on Murphy Group's recent activities. I need to understand why we didn't win the first round," Alan instructed sharply. His focus was on ensuring vigilance for the remaining rounds.

Otherwise, the Royal Garden Road project they had long prepared for might slip through their fingers.

"Understood, Mr. Hewitt."
