Chapter: 359
Alan directed the project director to intensify their preparations.

Hewitt Group was very busy with the Royal Garden Road project. Just after resolving Mara's situation, Ashley received a call from Miguel.

"I don't care how you do it. Find out how much Alan is willing to bid next."

Ashley pursed her lips upon hearing that. Miguel made it sound so simple. How was she supposed to find that out?

“Miguel, the Royal Garden Road project is now highly confidential. Only insiders have access to such information, and I'm not one of them, I'm afraid..."

Miguel scoffed, “Ashley, spare me the excuses. We're just talking about a number. It shouldn't be that hard for you."

Ashley took a deep breath, frustrated. “If I manage to get this number, what's in it for me?"

If Miguel wasn't prepared to offer her something for such a risky task, did he expect her to work for free?

Miguel raised his eyebrows and was a little angry. He hated when others negotiated terms with him. “Ashley, what do you want?"

That was exactly the opening Ashley had been hoping for. She had spent a significant amount on hush money to deal with Mara.

She was running out of money now. Without extra cash, her lifestyle would suffer.

"Miguel, I'm not asking for much. Just some money. It's been ages since I bought new clothes and handbags."

Rather than making a steep demand, Ashley pretended to sound more pitiful.

"I've had my eye on some limited-edition handbags. They require booking in advance and have buyer qualifications. I really like them."

Miguel scoffed, thinking her request was trivial. "Fine, it's not a big deal."

“Thank you, Miguel." Ashley was visibly glad.

“If you fail to get the number, you know the consequences, right?"

Miguel's chilling words made Ashley tense up.

She swallowed nervously. Despite being intimidated, she was bent on finishing her task.

“Don't worry. I'll give it my all," she promised.

“Good, I'll be waiting for the good news then."

After Miguel ended the call, Ashley let out a sigh of relief.

She was familiar with the Royal Garden Road project, which was overseen directly by the project director.

She recalled her colleagues had been assigned some smaller tasks related to the project in the past.
