Chapter: 368
Kaitlin chuckled, her cheeks flushing.
She admitted frankly, "I've been thinking, once the collaboration with Gilbert Jewelry wraps up, I'm going to take a serious break. In the next few days, I'll head over to Alan's to recover. I need to give myself some time off after being so busy." Kaitlin caressed her belly tenderly.
Phoebe observed her friend and clicked her tongue. "Kaitlin, I can see the glow of motherhood on you now."
"Really?"
"You might not notice it yourself, but it's quite clear to me."
Phoebe exhaled deeply, her expression softening.
"That's wonderful. Kaitlin, Mr. Hewitt is taking such good care of you now. After the baby arrives, you should consider getting back together with him. I'm your best friend, and I think it's just the hurdle in your heart you need to get past. But with the baby coming, it's not such a big issue anymore. Didn't you always say to look forward? You deserve to be happy."
Kaitlin nodded and said, "I will."
After talking about work a bit more, Kaitlin returned to her office to organize her belongings.
Even though she was going to take time off to recuperate, she couldn't imagine just eating and sleeping all day.
Alan arrived early in the afternoon, and Kaitlin was still wrapping up work details with Nora.
Nora felt unsure of her abilities, but Kaitlin's trust in her was motivating.
"Don't worry, Kaitlin. I'll do my best. I'll keep things running at the studio and wait for your return after you have the baby.”
“Okay.”
By the time Alan arrived, Kaitlin and Nora had just finished their conversation.
Seeing Alan enter, Nora quickly excused herself. "I'll head off to work now."
“Alright,” Kaitlin responded.
“What have you been up to?" Alan asked, looking at Kaitlin.
"I've almost finished my work. Now, all I need to focus on is the exhibition next week."
After saying that, Kaitlin looked at Alan with a self-satisfied smile.
"How about that? Efficient, right?"
Alan smiled, pleasantly surprised by her compliance this time. He reached out and gently touched her hair.
“Absolutely. Let's head home," Alan said as if it were the most natural thing; after all, his place was their old home.
Once they were in the car, Kaitlin mentioned needing to stop by her apartment to pick up some clothes.
