Chapter: 369
Alan, however, dismissed the idea.

“I've had everything you need arranged for you. There's no need to worry."

Kaitlin looked surprised and slightly skeptical. "Are you wasting money again?"

"How could it be a waste if it's something for you?"

Kaitlin decided not to argue. It saved her much trouble. "Okay."

“Once we get home, you can check if there's anything else you need. I can have it taken care of. Have you had your prenatal checkup recently?" Alan said.

"I've already contacted our family doctor, so there's no need for a hospital visit."

Alan's tone shifted, becoming unexpectedly detailed and attentive.

Kaitlin raised her eyebrows, a bit unsettled. "Is this really you, Alan?"

Typically, Alan was known for his reserved nature.

Alan gently took her hand and pressed it against his cheek. "See for yourself whether I'm real or not."

Kaitlin was amused. She hadn't realized Alan could make jokes now.

“Okay, enough now."

Kaitlin attempted to pull her hand away, but Alan held it firmly.

"I'll be tied up for a bit. Once this project is done, I'll make time to be here with you." Alan's face turned solemn, his voice deepening with seriousness.

Recalling the recent dispute between him and Shawn, Kaitlin felt a wave of concern. "Shawn is a difficult person to deal with, isn't he?"

Alan avoided a direct response. "Don't worry about him. He won't get the better of me."

"That's reassuring."

Noticing his confidence, Kaitlin chose not to push him, to keep from piling on more stress.

Upon reaching the villa, Alan assisted her to the upper floor.

Instead of heading to the master bedroom, they stopped at the adjacent guest room.

"Go ahead and take a look inside," Alan said.

“What's in there?" Kaitlin inquired, her curiosity piqued.

"Just open the door. You'll find out."
