Chapter: 38
After sending the message, she quietly awaited a response.
She was convinced that Alan's already poor opinion of Kaitlin would only worsen once he saw the photo.
"Where?" Alan's brief reply came.
“It's called Crescent. Alan, are you coming? I'll stall them for you."
Lilliana allowed herself a smug smile after texting. Truly dreadful!
Suddenly, she felt her friend had chosen the restaurant wisely.
There was even a spectacle to enjoy.
“Lilliana, what are you staring at?" her friend asked.
“Nothing.” Lilliana offered no further explanation. Throughout the meal, she occasionally glanced over at Kaitlin.
Within twenty minutes, Alan stormed in.
They had only just divorced, and here was Kaitlin, already cozy with another man.
Disgraceful!
He scanned the room and quickly spotted Kaitlin.
With a scowl etched on his face, he strode over to her table.
At that moment, Kaitlin was laughing joyfully with Quintin. The sight of Alan approaching made their smiles vanish instantly.
"Kaitlin, what the hell is going on?"
Alan's voice carried a note of accusation, prompting Kaitlin to frown and roll her eyes in annoyance.
"I'm eating. Can't you see?" she retorted sharply.
Alan's irritation flared as he turned to face Quintin.
The air between the two men crackled with unspoken tension.
“And who might you be? Do you know-" Alan began, only to be cut off by Kaitlin.
“Alan, meet my new boyfriend. Is there a problem?" she interjected, her tone defiant.
At her cue, Quintin played along.
“Kaitlin, who is this gentleman?" he asked.
