Chapter: 384
“Yes, Mr. Gilbert is generous and approachable. He's been a great help while you've been away.”
Kaitlin's eyebrows shot up. “Really?”
“Yes, this event involves both our companies. But don't worry, we haven't accumulated too much debt of gratitude. I've made sure to pay back appropriately. You know I understand your discomfort with owing favors."
Kaitlin acknowledged this with a nod, recognizing Phoebe's sensibility.
Overwhelmed by the vibrant atmosphere, Phoebe confessed, "I never imagined our studio would grow this much. Kaitlin, without you, achieving this milestone might have been out of reach.”
“Don't be silly. We're partners, after all. Each of us plays a vital role."
Phoebe flashed her a smile. "Yes, you're absolutely right. I won't be in your way. I'm off to chat with the designers."
"Okay."
As Phoebe turned and walked away, Alan guided Kaitlin to a seat.
Kaitlin needed to sit. Standing for prolonged periods wore her out quickly.
As they exchanged a few words, a familiar figure approached and took a seat beside them.
It was Shawn, and his presence wasn't unexpected, considering that he was also in the jewelry industry.
Shawn addressed Kaitlin, remarking, "The turnout for today's exhibition is remarkable. Oasis Jewelry truly never disappoints."
Alan gave Shawn a frosty look, which Shawn casually ignored.
Kaitlin nodded, offering a polite smile. "Mr. Murphy, you flatter me. ALL credit goes to Gilbert Jewelry."
“I've always heard good things about Gilbert Jewelry."
After a brief pause, he continued, “Kaitlin, has Gilbert Jewelry influenced your decision not to partner with us?"
His tone was light, almost teasing, but it put Kaitlin on edge.
“Not at all, Mr. Murphy. I'm expecting right now, but I look forward to potential collaborations in the future."
Their polite banter masked the clarity of their underlying intentions.
Shifting his gaze to Alan, whose expression remained unyielding, Shawn changed the subject.
"Mr. Hewitt, we'll soon know the winner of the bidding for the Royal Garden Road project. Are you feeling the pressure?"
“Why would I be?" Alan responded evenly.
“Oh," Shawn muttered, his indifference palpable. "So, Mr. Hewitt, you're confident of victory?"
