Chapter: 393
While Shawn directed his public relations team to manage the fallout, he also monitored the stock market closely.
When Miguel called, his expression was grima harbinger of the looming storm.
“How dare you call me?" Shawn snapped.
Miguel was on the other end of the phone, clearly in a foul mood too.
He had done everything within his power, yet things had still gone awry.
Shawn had not only failed to secure the project but had also suffered a humiliating defeat.
"Now I'm starting to think you're colluding with Alan," Shawn accused, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
“Mr. Murphy, your own carelessness gave him leverage over you. Why are you blaming me?" Miguel retorted, frustration coloring his voice.
Shawn scoffed at the thought of working with Miguel, whom he now viewed as utterly incompetent.
"Miguel, if you're not conspiring with them, you're simply a fool. I have no patience for idiots. Don't contact me again," he snapped, and with those harsh words, he ended the call abruptly.
Miguel gripped the phone tightly, anger pulsing through him as his chest heaved with each breath. "How dare he call me an idiot..."
The buzz around the Royal Garden Road project grew as Shawn was officially disqualified, and as expected, the Hewitt Group clinched the deal.
When the news broke, Kaitlin brought chicken broth prepared by her chef to the office to celebrate their victory.
Meanwhile, Alan was in his office, deep in discussion about the next steps for the project with his team.
Upon hearing a noise at the door, Alan immediately rose from his seat and approached Kaitlin.
"Kaitlin, what brings you here? Didn't I insist that you stay home and rest?" he asked, a note of concern in his voice.
“I couldn't stay away after hearing the fantastic news. I hope I'm not intruding?" Kaitlin replied, her eyes darting to the office executives, a hint of embarrassment coloring her features.
Alan gave a subtle glance towards the executives, and they quickly took the cue to leave.
Kaitlin then handed a bowl of chicken broth over to Alan.
“You've been pushing yourself so hard with the project lately. I had this prepared especially for you-to help strengthen your body," she explained tenderly.
Alan acknowledged her gesture with a nod and accepted the broth without objection.
Moments later, as he sipped his broth, Dylan interrupted with a soft knock and presented some documents concerning Shawn.
As Alan reviewed the information, his brow furrowed in concern.
Kaitlin leaned over to glance at the documents, her expression turning to one of confusion. “Are you looking into Shawn?" she inquired.
