Chapter: 398
That too had seen some turmoil back in June, fifteen years ago.

"Fetch the file of that suburban project, quickly," he instructed.

Dylan nodded and was about to exit when Alan stood.

"I'll handle it myself."

His decision to retrieve the file personally caught the supervisor off-guard.

Upon hearing the mention of the suburban project, a flicker of recognition crossed the supervisor's face, not missed by Alan.

“Do you recall anything?" Alan probed.

The supervisor hesitated before nodding.

"Mr. Hewitt, Miss Willis had previously wished to review the project file, but I withheld the information from her as she lacked your approval."

The supervisor then quickly located the requested file.

The project dated back ten years. Logically, one would expect a thick layer of dust on the file, yet surprisingly, it was relatively clean.

Alan's brow furrowed, sensing something amiss.

"Ashley has no access to this. Who else looked into it?" he asked, his voice edged with suspicion.

The supervisor hesitated, caught off guard by Alan's penetrating gaze.

After a moment, he caved, revealing, “Um, Mr. Miguel Hewitt had his assistant review it."

A flicker of understanding crossed Alan's eyes.

Ashley's and Miguel's interest in the project hints at complexities beneath the surface.

“From now on, nobody touches the company's project files without my express consent," Alan declared sternly.

The supervisor nodded, his respect evident. "Got it, Mr. Hewitt."

Taking the file, Alan left to pore over the finer details.

He discovered errors made by his parents years ago had caused substantial losses for their partner, the Aston Group.

This revelation troubled him.

"Dig deeper into what became of the Aston Group after the project concluded," he instructed Dylan.

"Right away, sir."
