With a nod, Miguel's assistant exited the study.

Miguel swirled his drink and glanced at his phone.

As expected, there was a message from Shawn suggesting they maintain their partnership.

Shawn's message was blunt, almost as if he had anticipated Miguel's continued cooperation.

Without any pretense, Miguel promptly made the call.

After two rings, the call was picked up.

Miguel's smile was icy. He inquired, "Mr. Murphy, what's on the agenda this time?"

Shawn cut to the chase. "I've heard about your mishap with Alan, leaving you incapacitated. Isn't this the perfect moment to reveal the truth?"

Shawn seemed indifferent to the harshness of the word “incapacitated,” unconcerned about whether it would unsettle Miguel.

Miguel, on the other hand, responded with a sinister smirk. He had orchestrated for Shawn to learn about the incident through others; there was no room for sentimentality.

“Mr. Murphy, you're exceptionally well-informed."

Only then did Shawn breathe a sigh of relief. If the information had been false, it would have been worthless.

He offered, "In that case, let's discuss our collaboration."

Miguel replied without hesitation, “No problem. I can testify the incident and help move things along."

"Mr. Hewitt, your straightforwardness is refreshing. I won't let you down. What do you need from me?"

Miguel's sneer deepened. “What I want is for us to work together to oust Alan from his CEO position. Don't forget to put some pressure on the Hewitt Group while you're at it, exposing the news."

“Okay, but you'll need to handle the internal matters at Hewitt Group yourself."

With that, they forged a new alliance.
