Chapter: 404
Miguel waved his hand dismissively after the flurry of questions.

"He is, after all, family. I believe he has felt some remorse over the incident," he responded.

He paused, then added, “We both bear the Hewitt name, and now he leads the Hewitt Group. I..."

Miguel's hesitation seemed calculated, portraying him as reluctant to confront Alan, perhaps out of fear of his power and influence.

This strategy was astutely manipulative, garnering sympathy and rallying support from the audience.

The press conference ended early, with Miguel being wheeled away by his assistant as he sat in a wheelchair.

The reporters hurried after him, eager for more details and insights into his future plans.

Miguel waved his hand, meeting each question with resolute silence.

His solo performance had elevated the play to its climax.

However, Alan had no intention of going along with his act.

Switching off the screen, he turned to Dylan who had just entered the room.

“How is the investigation on Shawn progressing?" Alan asked.

“Mr. Hewitt, the missing son of the Aston family was placed in the same orphanage. It appears highly likely that Shawn is indeed the Aston son," Dylan reported.

A flicker of realization crossed Alan's eyes. His suspicions were confirmed.

Suddenly, everything clicked into place.

Since his return, Shawn had been forging connections with Kaitlin and intermittently sabotaging the Hewitt Group, seemingly seeking vengeance.

But Alan puzzled over one crucial detail. Was it really his parents who had driven the Aston family to bankruptcy?

This notion confused him, as his knowledge of his parents contradicted such actions.

“Locate any surviving members of the Aston family. We need to find out the true cause of their bankruptcy," Alan instructed.

Only through this pursuit could the truth emerge.

"Understood, Mr. Hewitt. How should we handle the scandal?" Dylan asked.

The matter was deeply entwined with the Hewitt family's private affairs, and as an outsider, he was uncertain of the appropriate approach.

“Miguel has his reasons for acting as he does. Beyond tarnishing my reputation, I suspect he intends to interfere directly with the company. We'll need to respond based on how things develop. He won't remain passive for long," Alan said decisively.

Though Dylan did not grasp Alan's words, his assertiveness provided a measure of reassurance.
