Chapter: 405
As soon as Dylan left the office, a secretary approached.
“Mr. Hewitt has called a board meeting," she announced.
Dylan frowned. "No. Where did you hear that?" he asked.
“It's not Mr. Hewitt in the office. It's Miguel Hewitt," the secretary clarified.
Only then did Dylan grasp Alan's earlier words.
“When is the meeting scheduled?"
“Tomorrow morning."
Miguel, as a shareholder, had called for the board meeting.
Every major shareholder was in attendance and arrived on time.
The atmosphere in the meeting room was tense.
Sitting at the table, Miguel surveyed the room, his gaze Lingering on several of Beth's trusted appointees.
The meeting was due to start, but Alan was conspicuously absent.
After a prolonged silence, murmurs began to fill the room.
“What's the point of this board meeting if Mr. Hewitt is not here?" one board member questioned.
“Why call this meeting now?" another murmured.
“Aren't you aware of the scandal spreading like wildfire online?" a third interjected.
“The stock of Hewitt Group has plummeted. Mr. Hewitt hasn't addressed it yet. It's unclear what his strategy is," another added.
As the murmuring grew louder, a wave of dissatisfaction swept through the room.
Miguel watched, a satisfied smile playing on his Lips.
Moments later, Alan strode into the meeting room, his assistant in tow.
His commanding presence immediately silenced the room.
Taking his place at the head of the table, Alan's cold gaze swept over the attendees before settling on Miguel.
"Go ahead. What's the issue?" he asked.
His tone was cold and dismissive.
