Chapter: 411
"Mr. Hewitt, are you truly unaware of the real cause?"

His expression was calm, yet a touch of madness lingered in his eyes.

Alan's brow creased as he questioned, "Are you implying this is about the suburb project from a decade ago?"

Zahir nodded. That project ten years ago was the start of all the troubles.

It was unforgettable for him.

“The Hewitt Group interfered during that project, forcing Aston Group into bankruptcy and overwhelming debt. As the current CEO, are you really clueless about this?"

Right after Zahir stopped talking, the long-held resentment and anger in his eyes suddenly erupted.

His hands balled into fists, and he rose to his feet involuntarily.

When Zahir made his move, Dylan quickly intervened, placing himself between Alan and Zahir.

It was his duty to guard his boss at all times.

Alan met Zahir's gaze and gestured to Dylan to step aside.

“I've gone over the details of the project. It's true that the Aston family's bankruptcy tied back to the Hewitt family. However, my parents would never be involved in such things. This has to be a misunderstanding," Alan said earnestly, his eyes conveying his honesty.

Zahir finally settled down and slumped back into the sofa, looking defeated.

"Even if it's a misunderstanding, it has been over ten years now..." he whispered softly.

His blank expression made him appear pitiable.

Alan frowned, unable to comprehend Zahir's past experiences.

Yet, he was certain that Zahir wanted to find out who was responsible for bringing down the Aston Group.

"I'm looking into this issue and I'll need your help," Alan said his intentions plainly.

Zahir was taken aback for a moment, but a spark of hope flickered in his eyes.

“Mr. Hewitt, are you suggesting you're open to re-examining this case?"

Alan gave a nod. “Yes. I'm convinced my parents are innocent, so I need to find out the real story."

Zahir's face briefly lit up with relief at Alan's words.

But quickly, his expression turned to one of doubt.

"Still, it involves the Hewitt family. What new facts could you possibly find, Mr. Hewitt?"
