Chapter: 52
Alan's voice halted her, yet she didn't turn around.

"What is it?" she asked.

Alan, lips twitching slightly, almost invited her to stay, but his pride clamped down on the words.

"It's late. Let me give you a ride," he offered.

“No need. We're not going the same way," she responded crisply.

“Kaitlin, how have you been since the divorce?" His voice softened.

Kaitlin's hand brushed her stomach, a sardonic smile forming. “I'm fine. But we're divorced. There's no room for small talk about life. I'm leaving."

This time, she walked away decisively. Alan lingered momentarily before opting to follow.

At the door, Dylan awaited, interpreting their grim expressions as a sign of discord.

"Mr. Hewitt, did things not go well?" Dylan inquired.

"Where's Kaitlin?" Alan asked.

"She made her way to the exit."

Without uttering a word, Alan quickly followed her.

As he reached the door, his shout for her was abruptly cut off.

Quintin was courteously holding the passenger door open for Kaitlin.

The pair exchanged laughs and seemed exceedingly close.

Contrastingly, back in the private room, Kaitlin had maintained a purely professional demeanor without a hint of a smile.

Dylan caught a glimpse of Alan's expression and prudently remained silent.

Only after Quintin's car had departed did Alan slowly relax his clenched fist, striving to maintain his composure.

“Dismiss Lilliana and close the studio," he commanded.

Dylan was taken aback by the directive. Lilliana was Ashley's younger sister, after all!

While others might be oblivious, Dylan knew well how much Alan had valued Ashley.

“Did you get that?" Alan continued.

“Yes, Mr. Hewitt. I'll see to it first thing tomorrow."
