Chapter: 56
Once the managers had departed, Alan turned his attention to the invitations. As he had anticipated, it was an invitation to a gathering at Oasis Studio.

Kaitlin would probably be there, wouldn't she?

"Mr. Hewitt, we need to leave. We're running late for the meeting."

Dylan hesitated to interrupt, but the importance of the project pressed him.

Alan nodded in acknowledgment, slipping one of the invitations into his pocket silently.

The evening's business dinner promised to be a long affair, with their partners eager to maximize profits from the Hewitt Group.

When it came to making a profit, it was always a strategic game of wits.

Alan, with a determined look etched across his face, found his thoughts drifting to another issue.

The rigid formality of the invitation served as a relentless reminder of the upcoming soirée.

“Enough,” Alan declared abruptly, surprising his client who mistook his intensity for anger.

Just as the client opened his mouth to speak and prolong the negotiation, Alan interrupted him.

“Let's go ahead with your plan. I have another commitment to attend to. I'll follow up on the details later. Excuse me."

Without waiting for a response, Alan stood up and left the room, going straight for the soirée.

Dylan, taken aback, chose to remain silent.

Throughout the extensive negotiations, Alan had been resolute, not giving in even slightly.

Yet tonight, he conceded all of a sudden for the sake of a party, which seemed astonishing.

“Hurry, please," Alan urged his driver.

The party was already in full swing, and he wondered if he was too late to meet Kaitlin.

Luckily, he arrived just in time. The venue was alive with guests mingling, drinks being served, and lively chatter filling the air.

Alan scanned the room until his gaze landed on Kaitlin.

She was radiant in a champagne-colored dress, her hair softly curled, exuding elegance and grace.

Clutching a wine glass, she mingled with several men, laughing unaware of Alan's watchful eyes.

People recognized Alan and attempted to strike up conversations, but a stern glance from him was enough to dissuade them.

His brooding demeanor was apparent, though the reason for his sullen mood remained a mystery.
