Chapter: 55
With her responsibilities reduced, she found herself resting much better lately.

Tonight marked the grand finale, the most critical gathering yet, attended by guests from various influential sectors.

Kaitlin visited the mall to pick up a stylish gown for the evening's event.

Phoebe and Quintin were tied up with prior commitments and couldn't make it to the event.

This left Kaitlin to manage everything on her own.

Before leaving, she took a deep breath and grabbed a quick bite to ensure she wouldn't be hungry later.

The guest list included distinguished professionals, and some from the Hewitt Group.

Quintin deliberately excluded Alan from the guest list, opting to invite only a few of the senior managers.

As the workday drew to a close, several managers at the Hewitt Group debated attending the event.

Alan, passing by and overhearing mentions of Oasis Studio, paused to join the conversation.

"Qasis Jewelry has been making waves lately. With so many influential figures attending tonight, it would be regrettable to miss out."

"However, there's been friction between Oasis Studio and us. What if Mr. Hewitt finds out?"

"As long as neither of us spills the beans, he won't know. Besides, Mr. Hewitt wasn't even invited, so he definitely won't be there."

Their discussion halted abruptly as they noticed Alan who was wearing a grave expression.

A wave of panic washed over them as they contemplated the potential consequences.

"Mr. Hewitt... we... we had no intention of attending.”

"Yeah, Mr. Hewitt, we were just curious."

“Mr. Hewitt, we've been faithful to the Hewitt Group for years.”

Alan fixed them with a glare and snapped, "Shut up. Give me the invitations."

They hastily complied, handing over their invitations in a bid to demonstrate their innocence.

"Get out."

Alan's lips barely moved as he spoke, but to the managers, it felt like a pardon.

In moments like these, if Alan didn't dismiss them outright, it meant they were safe.

Alan was not known for harboring resentments.
