Chapter: 60
It was ridiculous to even imagine.

Despite her internal protests, her actions spoke of a reluctant care that she couldn't quite deny.

Kaitlin prepared a cup of honey water for him, hoping it would help him regain his senses.

After sipping it, Alan noticeably perked up.

With her arms crossed, Kaitlin settled into her chair, her gaze fixed on the man as he slowly came around.

“Alan, what was the meaning of tonight's spectacle?"

Alan remained silent, and Kaitlin gave him the space, the room steeped in quiet.

He massaged his temples, clarity seeping back into his mind.

Could he really have been the one causing such a scene downstairs?

The thought of his own outburst embarrassed him deeply.

“Kaitlin, was it you... that you helped me up here?"

"Who else?" she retorted. "You were making a scene outside my apartment, disturbing everyone. It was incredibly disruptive. You're lucky the police didn't come. Now, wouldn't that have been a spectacle?"

A smirk crossed her face, imagining the headlines.

"Drunk CEO of Hewitt Group Causes Chaos; Heartbreak or Falling Stocks?" she blurted out, obviously inspired by the gossip she had absorbed.

Alan offered no smile, only raising his eyes to meet hers. "We need to talk."

"Go ahead. I'm all ears," Kaitlin responded, her expression unreadable as she flicked her semi-dry hair back.

"Let's get remarried," Alan said suddenly.

Her reaction was instant, her body jolting as if shocked. "Are you out of your mind?"

"I'm perfectly sane, Kaitlin. I mean it."

Kaitlin rolled her eyes, dismissing him as a tease. "You need to leave if you're sober. I need some rest."

“Kaitlin! Why won't you trust what I'm saying? I know I was wrong before... I'm sorry."

Shock flickered across Kaitlin's face. Was she hearing things?

Was Alan actually apologizing?

Wasn't he the one who always believed he could do no wrong?
