Chapter: 81
Yvette said, her gaze Lingering on Quintin with an unmistakable hint of interest.

Quintin, however, wasn't easily flattered. “I'm Quintin Acosta, a designer with Oasis Studio." He introduced himself with a courteous smile, extending his hand. "Pleased to meet you, Yvette Streep."

Their handshake was brief, yet their eyes locked briefly, tension visible.

“The vibrancy of today's event is commendable. Congratulations, Ms. Streep," Quintin said.

Yvette responded with a light, boastful laugh. “It's largely thanks to Mr. Hewitt's assistance. My own network isn't quite so extensive yet, having only recently returned."

Kaitlin maintained a composed facade. “We shouldn't keep you, I'm sure you're quite busy tonight."

“Certainly, let's catch up over a drink later," Yvette proposed before excusing herself.

As Yvette departed, Kaitlin's facade faltered slightly. Alan couldn't get over Ashley, yet he was already involved with another woman. How could talk of remarriage even pass his mind? Delusional!

“Kaitlin, are you alright?" Quintin's concern broke through her thoughts.

"I'm fine," she replied. "Let's go over there."

Kaitlin, maintaining a veneer of composure, escorted Quintin through the crowd to network with potential clients.

Alan arrived conspicuously late, his demeanor cooling instantly as he noticed Kaitlin and Quintin's coordinated attire.

Yvette materialized beside him, her tone light yet insistent. "Mr. Hewitt, you're just in time for a highlight of the evening. I need your participation."

Alan, perplexed, met her eager expression with a hesitant glance.

Yvette, undeterred, elaborated swiftly, "You'll be joining Ms. Gilbert on stage."

Contemplating briefly, Alan acquiesced with a nod, prompting Yvette to stride confidently towards the stage, microphone in hand.

“Thank you all for joining me at this premiere. Your support is invaluable, and I'm excited to share a special segment with you tonight," Yvette began, her voice carrying across the room.

Scanning the audience, Yvette locked eyes with Kaitlin, secluded at the edge of the venue. "I've long admired your work from afar, Kay. May I have the honor of your presence on stage?"

Caught in the spotlight, Kaitlin found refusal impractical amidst the expectant gazes of the assembly.

Utilizing a rival in promoting their jewelry showcase was an audacious move. How did Yvette get such a bad idea?

Kaitlin maintained a flawless smile despite her annoyance, and nodded her agreement to Yvette's request.

“Let's give a warm welcome to Ms. Gilbert," Yvette declared from the stage.

Obliged to comply, Kaitlin ascended the platform, where she gracefully offered polite compliments into the microphone. Though her words were courteous, she cleverly wove genuine admiration for Yvette's skills into her speech, enhancing the cordial atmosphere.

After her brief address, Kaitlin attempted to exit the stage, handing back the microphone to Yvette.
