Chapter: 1003
After a brief pause, Nikolas pulled out a bank card and handed it to her. "There should be about seven hundred thousand dollars in this card. Use it for her treatment. I'll cover the costs."

Siena looked up at him in surprise.

“So you're willing to recognize her?" she stammered.

“No." Shoving the card into her hands, Nikolas coldly stated, “I'm leaving. Aimee knows that I'm in the hospital. I need to go back right now."

With that, he turned to leave.

However, Siena stopped him and asked furiously, "Are you even human? Our daughter is lying there with her life hanging in the balance, and you're just going to leave?"

"I told you I will pay for her treatment. What more do you want from me?"

"As her father, shouldn't you stay by her side and help her get through this?" It was rare for Siena to be so assertive. "If you came here today, it means you still care about your daughter. So why rush back just because that woman called? Is she more important to you than your daughter?"

"We haven't done a DNA test yet. It's hard to say if she's really my daughter."

"Nikolas! What's wrong with you? How could you say such a thing?"

Siena shouted hysterically. “If you never loved me, why did you choose to be with me in the first place? Why did you lie to me to get me into bed? Why did you make me fall in love with you? You act like you're innocent, but what about me?"

Nikolas remained silent.

How could he have known that so many complications would arise from that one night with her?

If he had known that all this would happen back then, he wouldn't have gotten involved with her at all.

"Just one day, okay?" Siena said in a softer tone, with a pleading look in her eyes. "The doctor said we would know today whether she can undergo the operation or not. I really can't bear this alone. Just stay with me in the hospital for a day."

Nikolas would have preferred it if she continued shouting and arguing with him instead.

But it was hard for him to refuse such a sincere request.

"But I've told her I will go back and asked her to wait for me at home," he said quietly.

“Just tell her you feel like going out to have some drinks. Didn't you say that to me before? You never hesitated to stand me up."

Once again, Nikolas was at a loss for words.

“Don't you want to know if she is really your daughter?" Siena continued. "Since we're already in the hospital, you can get a paternity test now."

Nikolas was temporarily stunned by Siena's firm tone.

"So she really is my daughter..."

"You don't have to believe me. Go do a paternity test. Since you're so worried I'll blackmail you, you can do a paternity test. I was angry then, not because I was guilty but because I thought it was unfair to my daughter," Siena said with her eyes lowered.
