Chapter: 1016
Nikolas nervously smoked one cigarette after another, trying to figure out his next move. Just then, Henson's car arrived.
Henson, not wanting his daughter to wait while she was sad, rushed to go see her. He even forgot to put on a coat.
When he arrived, he rushed over to Aimee.
“I'm here, Aimee," he said.
Nikolas grew anxious upon seeing Henson.
"Henson..."
“What are you doing here?" Henson asked coldly. “Aimee said that you... Tell me she's lying."
Nikolas, in a bid to explain himself, hurriedly said, “It's not what you think, Aimee's got it all wrong."
“I asked if you stayed out all night with another woman."
"Yes," Nikolas answered.
"That's all I want to hear. I'll be taking my daughter back home,"
Henson said. Turning to Aimee, he asked, "Are those two suitcases yours?"
"Yes," Aimee said, nodding.
“I'll bring them. Go wait for me in the car."
Tears welled up in Aimee's eyes when she saw her father's tenderness toward her.
She then turned around and began to walk towards her father's car.
Nikolas ran up to her and grabbed her wrist. “Don't do this. We've been together for so long. How can you just want to leave Like that?"
“Let go of me."
"No," Nikolas said as a look of determination and desperation came upon his face. "We are to be engaged soon. How, then, can you just leave? Haven't I treated you well?" he asked.
"Yes, you have. But you treat everybody the same way, and I don't need that," Aimee said.
“What are you talking about? I've never loved anyone the way I love you in my entire life. I swear, I feel nothing for Siena. Last night, my phone died. I was so tired that I fell asleep in the hospital. I called you the moment I woke up," Nikolas explained.
His words sounded true, but Aimee didn't believe a word he said.
“Your phone died, yet you somehow turned it on this morning?" Aimee asked skeptically.
"I borrowed a charger," Nikolas said.
