Chapter: 1017
“Can you stop lying? Don't ruin my memory of you with these Lies. Let's just end things on an amicable note," Aimee said. She then gently removed Nikolas’ hand from her wrist and took a step back.
"You could have called me yesterday, but you chose not to. I was worried sick about you the whole night, yet you were with another woman."
That was something Aimee couldn't take.
She didn't mind that he used to be a playboy and had dated a lot of women.
But now that they were together, she demanded his full attention and devotion.
Aimee's words seemed to cut Nikolas deeply.
Last night, he had tried to think of a way to tell Aimee about the child, but he had come up with nothing, so he decided to turn off his phone.
Siena had asked him to stay the night, so he thought it best to not speak to Aimee that night and then explain himself the following day.
However, it had not occurred to him that Aimee would take it this seriously and break up with him.
Now it seemed no explanation would help his case. She viewed everything he said as made-up excuses.
"Please give me one chance," Nikolas pleaded.
"The only chance you got was when I agreed to be with you. You've thrown that chance away," Aimee said. She then turned to Henson, who was waiting with the suitcases, and said, "Let's go, dad."
“Okay.”
Nikolas wanted to hold Aimee back, but his phone chose that moment to ring.
He had no interest in seeing who it was; he just wanted Aimee to stay.
However, the phone continued to ring, loud enough for Aimee to hear.
As Aimee approached her car, she paused and looked back at Nikolas.
“Aren't you going to answer that? Is it Siena?"
"I won't answer it, Aimee. What if I block her number? Please don't leave." Nikolas rushed over and grabbed her arm.
At this, Henson intervened, pulling Nikolas’ hand away.
"Nikolas, my wife and I were initially concerned you were still a player, which made us hesitant about you and Aimee. When we saw how devoted you were to her, we warmed up to the engagement. But you've disappointed my daughter, and now, I don't think this engagement is a good idea."
“Henson.. I have my reasons!"
“You're entitled to your reasons! As a man, I understand the need for social interactions. I'm not upset about that; what I cannot accept is that you've broken Aimee's trust and caused her so much worry. As her father, that's unacceptable."
Once a pattern starts, it tends to repeat.
