Chapter: 1021
The pretty girl stood up, her face turning a rosy shade of red. She took a hesitant step towards Jonathan and greeted him shyly, "Hi"

“Married,” was Jonathan's curt reply.

The girl was stunned, her smile vanishing instantly.

This time, Bethany finally realized what he had said earlier to the foreign girl; no wonder she had looked so disappointed.

“Mommy!" Nola spotted Bethany first and dashed towards her, arms outstretched.

Rowan, however, stayed by Jonathan's side, snickering mischievously.

"Daddy, do you think Mommy's jealous? So many women hit on you just now!"

"She won't," Jonathan answered calmly, though he secretly hoped she would.

For the rest of their day at the amusement park, Bethany sat out most of the rides while Jonathan played and took care of the two kids.

Of course, there were a few more attempts from women trying to hit on Jonathan.

His response was always the same, one particularly pesky girl persistently asked if his wife was prettier than her.

Bethany thought Jonathan might point to her, but he didn't. He didn't even glance in her direction, choosing to ignore the girl entirely.

That was indeed Jonathan's style — always reserved, never chatty.

“Daddy, I'm hungry," Nola whined.

Times like these, Nola usually sought out Jonathan instead of clinging to her mother's legs.

Jonathan bent down, scooped up his daughter, and smoothed her Little pigtails. “And what do you want to eat, little one?"

"Candy!"

Jonathan was once again rendered speechless.

Whenever Nola was asked what she wanted to eat, candy was her go-to answer.

Bethany, feeling a mix of exasperation and amusement, walked over and gently said, “Candy isn't a proper meal, Nola."

Nola pouted. “Mommy, I'm talking to Daddy, not you. Daddy will agree with me, right?"

Jonathan's thick eyebrows furrowed slightly as he glanced at Bethany and answered Nola, "I listen to her too," he said with a hint of a smile.

When Bethany glanced over at Jonathan, he had already turned away, walking ahead with their daughter in his arms.

Lowering her gaze, Bethany took their son's hand and trailed behind Jonathan.
