Chapter: 1027
“Ridiculous! We must do the paternity test. You may be sure, but I need confirmation."
As his father prepared to leave, Nikolas called out in a low voice, "Don't ask for the test right now."
“Why not?"
"Her daughter is in the hospital. The doctors have issued multiple critical condition notices." Asking Siena for a paternity test now would be heartless.
Kai, understanding his son's point, grew even more frustrated!
He was tired of his son's irresponsibility. Although he often rebuked Nikolas, it was clear Nikolas wasn't entirely callous - just too frivolous and unaccountable.
“I truly feel I've failed in raising my son! Let's go."
"What?" Gilda was shocked. "But Nikolas' hands..."
“Let's go! This is a good opportunity for him to reflect on his actions and learn what he should and shouldn't do in the future!"
The intensity of the previous night left Bethany, waking the next day, half-convinced her back was broken.
She opened her eyes and managed to sit up. Jonathan was already perched on the sofa, legs crossed, watching her.
His demeanor was cool and distant, a stark contrast to the unrestrained passion he had shown in the darkness.
"You're awake."
"Yes."
Bethany adjusted her clothes instinctively, unsure of Jonathan's next move.
“Get ready and come with me."
“What are we doing?"
“I'm selling you."
Bethany was left speechless.
Watching him walk away, she assumed he was off to spend time with their children.
Where he planned to take her, however, remained a mystery.
Nevertheless, she obediently freshened up and changed, waiting for Jonathan.
Just when she thought it was time, Jonathan returned, gave her a brief glance, and led the way.
Bethany wanted to ask their destination but held back.
