Chapter: 1034
He really did call at just the “right moment".

After taking a few deep breaths, Aimee watched as the phone stopped ringing.

Perhaps Nikolas was hesitating, thinking she didn't want to answer.

She mulled it over for a moment before deciding to call back, but just as she was about to do so, Nikolas called again.

This time, Aimee pressed the answer button.

Nikolas seemed surprised that she answered so quickly. He paused, unsure of what to say.

“Say something. Why call if you're not going to speak?"

"Aimee, I need to talk to you. Can we meet one last time?"

Nikolas thought there was some things he must let her know.

Despite their breakup, he felt compelled to clarify things. After all, she was still Bethany's best friend, and their paths were bound to cross in the future. Plus, he despised the unease of deception and evasion; it weighed heavily on him.

“Okay, Aimee responded promptly. "That's good because I have something to tell you too."

"What is it?" Nikolas asked instinctively.

"Let's meet. Where are you?"

"I'm at Central Hospital."

Aimee pressed her lips together and glanced at the Central Hospital sign above the door. "I'm here too. Let's meet at the outpatient department."

"Okay."

After hanging up, Aimee smacked her forehead.

She wondered if forgiving Nikolas so easily might lead him to take her for granted in the future. She had been so resolute about breaking up, but now...

She really didn't like to go back on her word.

Plus, her father.. It would complicate things further if she reconciled with Nikolas.

Aimee hesitated! She had rushed into deciding to meet Nikolas and hadn't fully considered the consequences. Perhaps she should have discreetly handled the pregnancy and then cut ties with Nikolas completely.

But having agreed to meet, she felt compelled to follow through.

She would listen to what Nikolas had to say and then she would make her decision.

As Aimee walked toward the outpatient department, she speculated about why Nikolas wanted to meet at the hospital. Perhaps he planned to show her surveillance footage to prove his innocence.
