Chapter: 1049
Then, a sudden thought hit him. Aimee had been at the Central Hospital last time he saw her.

At the time, Nikolas had thought Aimee was simply going to visit Jayson, so he hadn't given it much thought.

Now, as he reflected on the day, he remembered her intense resolve to end their relationship. Yet, at the hospital, she had claimed she needed to talk to him about something important.

He hurried to his car, intent on driving to Central Hospital.

As he turned the key in the ignition, he remembered he had been drinking heavily. Panic washed over him at the thought of driving under the influence. Without delay, he called his secretary, asking him to come and take over.

Nikolas was not just worried about legal trouble; he feared that an accident could leave him unconscious, making it impossible to resolve things with Aimee in time. Every second counted.

Once he and his secretary reached the hospital, Nikolas headed straight for the gynecology and obstetrics department.

"I need to see Aimee Bates' medical records," he demanded.

The doctor, unfamiliar with Nikolas, eyed him with suspicion.

"Sorry, we can't release patient records. It's against our privacy policy," the doctor said.

Nikolas' frustration flared. "Damn it," he muttered, cursing himself for his rash approach.

He spun around and quickly made a phone call. Shortly after he ended his call, the doctor's phone rang. After the call, the doctor's attitude shifted noticeably, now showing Nikolas a willingness to help.

"Sir, are you Ms. Aimee Bates' husband?"

Nikolas took a moment to steady himself before responding, "Yes!"

“Why didn't you mention that sooner? Come with me. I'll check her records."

Nikolas glanced back at the stunned secretary, giving a firm instruction. "Stay here."

"Okay, Mr. Bennett," the secretary replied.

Nikolas followed the doctor into the office.

"Can you spell her name for me?" the doctor asked.

“A-I-M-E-E B-A-T-E-S."

"Give me a minute..." The doctor's voice trailed off as he began typing, his focus intent on the screen. He leaned closer, his eyes scanning the display.

Unable to hold back his nerves, Nikolas leaned in as well, peering at the screen alongside the doctor.

Then, the doctor found her name on the screen almost immediately.

"She did have examinations here in our obstetrics and gynecology department," the doctor confirmed.
