Chapter: 1050
Relief flooded through Nikolas. For a fleeting moment, it felt as though his heart, once weighed down by worry, found a hopeful, steady beat once more.
“Let me check," the doctor said, focusing on the screen again.
“She's definitely pregnant, but the baby is very small. We can't see much with the color ultrasound, but the blood test confirms it."
Nikolas’ pulse quickened. “Is the baby healthy?" he asked, his voice tight with worry.
"We can't tell much right now," the doctor replied, trying to sound reassuring. "But it looks okay for now."
Nikolas breathed out slowly, trying to steady himself. "That's good.."
"But," the doctor continued, his expression growing serious as he scanned the records, “she has an appointment for an abortion at nine o'clock in the morning, three days from now."
Sure enough!
This style of doing things was very Aimee-like.
She had always been bold, independent, and able to make decisions on her own.
Nikolas wondered how she would feel when she got his call after learning about the pregnancy.
Aimee must have wanted to get back together with him. She would not have agreed to meet him otherwise.
But what news had he brought?
No wonder Aimee had chosen to have an abortion.
“Sir?” the doctor called out, snapping him out of his reverie.
Nikolas, composing himself, said, “Cancel for her, doctor."
"But she has already paid, and we have a no-refund policy. The examination is all set..."
"I'll compensate her for what she paid for the procedure," Nikolas interrupted.
He would give her his life if she would accept it.
Jayson, aware of Bethany's return, was hell-bent on seeing her.
Because he had just been discharged from the hospital, Jayson's parents were not happy about him contacting Bethany again, but they couldn't stop him as he was a grown man.
“If you don't want me to go back to the hospital, let me go, mom."
"She has a lover and two children. Why are you so obsessed with her? You've been taking care of her for years, yet she left with the children. How much proof do you need for you to finally understand that she does not care about you?"
Jayson lowered his eyes, unable to meet his mother's gaze. "I know she doesn't care about me. She said it herself," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
