Chapter: 105
She was fond of strawberries but hadn't purchased them in a long while. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't eaten them in over a year.

“Back in middle school, you finished all the strawberries during a lunch break."

Middle school?

Hearing Jonathan's words, Bethany suddenly remembered that the first time she had strawberries was in middle school.

She dimly recalled having a classmate who was generous and handed out a box of strawberries to everyone. That was her first time eating strawberries.

"You remember that." Bethany took a bite of the strawberry. It tasted sweet.

Jonathan just smiled and said nothing. He held another strawberry in his hand, ready to hand it to Bethany.

Jonathan remembered because he was that generous classmate.

Back then, their textbook featured a picture of a strawberry. As Bethany's desk mate, he noticed her gazing at it intently for quite some time.

Jonathan understood that if he bought strawberries for her, she would surely refuse them. Therefore, he used the prize money he won from a contest to buy strawberries for all students in the class, claiming it was a gift from the class monitor.

“Why aren't you eating?" Bethany looked at Jonathan and selected a strawberry for him. "Try it, it's really sweet."

Jonathan didn't turn it down. He bit into the strawberry that Bethany was holding but accidentally nipped at her fingertip.

Like receiving an electric shock, Bethany quickly withdrew her hand, and her cheeks turned pink.

She sensed the growing romantic tension. She realized it was the perfect moment for them to get closer.

Jonathan picked Bethany up and walked with her to the bedroom. He kissed her deeply, leaving her almost breathless, her cheeks flushed as red as a strawberry.

"Yes, it's very sweet."

Luckily, Jonathan's assistant brought dinner just in time.

So, Jonathan and Bethany were only intimate once.

But even that single time left Bethany quite worn out. She even needed Jonathan to help her to the dining room.

Before heading to sleep, Jonathan propped himself up against the headboard and read a book.

As Bethany watched the side of Jonathan's face, she wanted to ask him something about Maddie, but ultimately, she held back.

She glanced at her phone. It showed that the day after tomorrow was August 25th.

That day, Jonathan wouldn't return to East Shade Bay. It was also supposed to be the day she brought her husband to meet her mother.

The following morning, Bethany was swamped as soon as she reached her office.
