Chapter: 1061
The journey was long.

Each step felt heavier than the last.

It was unusual for them to be so silent together. Nikolas wished she lived on a higher floor so their walk could last longer.

But all walks come to an end.

They reached the door of Aimee's apartment.

She raised her hand and knocked. Bethany was waiting and opened the door quickly.

Seeing Aimee with Nikolas right behind her, Bethany understood they hadn't come to any agreement.

But that made sense...

How could they possibly agree on this?

Aimee couldn't ask Nikolas to kill his daughter.

"Come in." Bethany took Aimee's hand and then cast a glance at Nikolas, pursed her lips, and shut the door.

“Bethany... Did I do the right thing?"

“I can't interfere with this, but I'll support whatever decision you make."

Bethany had impulsively decided to have two children. She didn't regret her choice, but the experience was difficult, and she nearly lost her life in the delivery room. Given her own tough experience, how could she now offer Aimee any advice?

She helped Aimee sit on the sofa and handed her a glass of water.

Instead of taking the water, Aimee looked up at Bethany and said, "Nikolas knows I'm pregnant."

"IT suspected as much."

“He wants me to keep the baby."

Bethany had already figured that might be the case.

Aimee pursed her lips and said in a raspy voice, "Bethany, do you know? When I first visited the maternity ward at Central Hospital, I saw those pregnant women smiling despite their fatigue. I thought then that motherhood must be a joyful thing, right?"

Bethany thought for a moment and nodded. “Yes, it is indeed a joy.”

“So I really wanted to give Nikolas a chance! After finding out I was pregnant, do you know what my first thought was? I wondered whether our baby would look more like Nikolas or me."

Bethany listened in silence.

“Well, if it's a boy, I hope he's more like me, so he doesn't end up with his father's personality. If it's a girl, I hope she resembles him. With those features, she would surely be as beautiful as Nola."
