Chapter: 1077
Bethany sensed that Aimee still had feelings for Nikolas and believed that, despite the obstacles, they might have a chance.

If Nikolas could win Aimee back, Bethany would be very happy for them.

After dinner, the night had fully settled in.

Bethany gathered her things, donned a green coat, and headed out for a walk with Aimee.

When they reached the bottom of the apartment building, Bethany scanned the area but saw no sign of Nikolas. Had he really left?

“What are you looking for?" Aimee asked, noticing Bethany's distracted demeanor.

Bethany shook her head and replied, "Nothing. Just that this building is quite old, and the facilities are starting to show their age."

Aimee nodded. "Right. I bought this place for its convenience. It's hard to believe how many years have passed since we left Ensson Corporation."

As they walked forward, chatting, a figure suddenly sprinted toward them from behind.

Before Aimee could react, Nikolas had grabbed her arm.

“Aimee, you came down to see me?"

“Let go of me. I didn't come to see you."

“I won't." Nikolas, undeterred, quickly pulled out a document from his pocket, smoothing it out to show Aimee. "This is the paternity test between me and Siena's child. That child is not mine."

When Nikolas’ words sank in, both Aimee and Bethany were left stunned.

Bethany's initial thought was that Nikolas might be fabricating this information to manipulate Aimee into keeping the baby. But before she could fully process this, Aimee spoke up. “Do you really expect me to believe this?"

"It's true! Jonathan..."

Nikolas, recalling Jonathan's instructions to keep Bethany out of the loop, lowered his voice and nervously glanced at her before continuing, “Jonathan helped me confirm it. My blood type doesn't match that child's..."

The mention of Jonathan's involvement surprised Bethany. Feeling like an intruder in their conversation, she cleared her throat and said, “Um, you two should talk this through. Since the child isn't yours, you have a lot to discuss. I'll take a walk. Aimee, call me if you need anything."

Aimee was at a loss for words. "Okay." She knew that with Nikolas here, she'd have to navigate this conversation, and it would likely keep him by her side for some time.

Bethany, on the other hand, was eager to get outside. After a day of making and waiting for calls, her mind had been in a state of constant tension. The thought of fresh air was a welcome relief.

She headed toward a nearby small park she was familiar with. To her surprise, it was unusually empty.

Checking her phone, she saw that it was Tuesday. The cool breeze made her pull her jacket tighter, and she understood why the park was so deserted.

As she sat on a bench, a sudden and intense urge for a drink overcame her.

Her eyes scanned the area, and she spotted a supermarket not far away.
