Chapter: 1076
Aimee pouted, walked to the door in her slippers, pressed the video intercom, and frowned.

“Who is it?" Bethany asked, walking over to see what was going on.

"It's Nikolas," Aimee said, looking at Bethany with a hint of exasperation. She put her finger to her lips. “Shh, let's keep our voices down. Pretend we're not home! I don't want to talk to him anymore."

Nikolas had probably come to beg Aimee not to have the abortion, a conversation Aimee was determined to avoid.

Aimee even suspected that Nikolas might have installed surveillance cameras in her room.

The next moment, she heard Nikolas shouting outside, “Aimee, I know you're there. Don't pretend you're not home, okay?"

Bethany listened to Nikolas’ persistent voice and couldn't help but think about how people could be so different.

Jonathan would never behave like this. If he were in Nikolas’ shoes, he'd simply wait downstairs.

“Aimee, you should just go out and talk to him. If he keeps making this noise, the neighbors will start complaining soon."

"But I don't know what to say to him."

"Just say whatever you feel. If you don't want to say anything, then don't. He'll eventually get the message and stop coming."

Aimee understood what Bethany meant. Bethany's main concern was her baby.

Bethany wanted her to be extremely careful about her decision to have an abortion. It wasn't something she could afford to regret later.

But she had truly made up her mind.

Continuing to be entangled with Nikolas would only make things more complicated. She understood her own nature well and knew that in a year or so, she might not even remember what he looked like.

"Bethany, I used to think I could accept a playboy as long as he promised to change. But now, I realize that's unrealistic. He has too many ex-girlfriends which might come back to haunt him, and where would that leave me?"

"Since you've made your decision, there's nothing more for me to say. Let's eat."

"Yes."

Ignoring Nikolas’ persistent knocking, Aimee followed Bethany to the dining room.

After a while, the knocking stopped.

Bethany glanced at Aimee and suggested, "I think Nikolas must have left by now. How about we go for a walk and get some fresh air? You've been sleeping all day, and I've been searching for lawyers non-stop. It's been quite dull."

“Okay!" Aimee agreed instantly.

Bethany sighed and looked toward the door, wondering whether Nikolas had really given up.

If Nikolas really had left, there was nothing more she could do.
