Chapter: 1103
"Bethany will get worried if she doesn't hear from me! Isn't it normal to call her?"
Nikolas’ gaze hardened. “You're hoping she'll call Jonathan to stop me, aren't you?"
Aimee's silence was telling, her eyes darting around for a way out.
Nikolas closed the distance between them, his footsteps deliberate.
Aimee instinctively backed away until her back hit the wall.
“There's no point in playing games with me," Nikolas said, his voice cold. "I've told you before - I don't want to hurt you. Just marry me and have this baby, and I promise I'll listen to you about everything else."
“But I don't want to marry you!" Aimee shot back.
Nikolas was barely containing a tempest of rage.
He had mistakenly barged into the restroom, thinking Aimee was taking too long. Had he not ignored the restroom signs, Aimee's call might have been successful.
If Bethany discovered he had effectively placed Aimee under virtual house arrest, the fallout would be severe - perhaps even more so than if his parents were to find out.
Bethany, the beloved gem of Jonathan, was off-limits.
Jonathan would surely unleash his fury on him for this.
“Enough. You've had your time in the restroom. Now, let's go get our marriage license."
Nikolas placed his hand on her shoulder, pressing down with a firm but gentle insistence.
However, Aimee stood her ground, refusing to budge.
“Can't you be reasonable just this once? The more you insist, Nikolas, the less I want to marry you!"
“Then who is it you wish to marry?"
“That's irrelevant! Stop manipulating my words!"
Nikolas tightened his jaw, his imposing figure casting a shadow that swallowed Aimee whole.
"You said you didn't want to be a stepmother, so I made sure Siena's child wasn't mine! You were worried about the drama from my exes. The way I handled Siena and Marvin's situation has sent a clear message. If they value their lives, they won't cross me. You can rest assured.”
Rest assured?
What was there for her to be assured of?
“Nikolas, the way you treated Siena was cruel; I'm afraid you might do the same to me someday!"
"I won't."
