"You can leave now. I'll be alright soon."

“IU turn around. You can throw up, and I won't look."

“Nikolas, you're incredible!" Aimee was amazed. His presence somehow eased her urge to vomit for a while. “Please step outside first. I'll wash up and join you."

"Okay."

Nikolas, uncharacteristically compliant, headed towards the door.

Aimee called out to him.

"Tell the nutritionist to eliminate all the greasy, strong-smelling dishes. Just some plain cereal for me."

She really wanted to enjoy her food, but the nausea was too overwhelming, so she opted for simplicity.

“ALL right, I'll ask them to prepare cereal for you."

Aimee took several deep breaths in the bathroom and examined herself in the mirror.

It was not easy to be a woman!

Watching Bethany deal with her pregnancy made Aimee empathetic and even settled never to have children herself. However, not having experienced it personally, she had forgotten the severity. Now, feeling it herself, she truly grasped what Bethany had endured.

When Aimee emerged, Nikolas was right there to support her.

Aimee waved her hand dismissively and said, “It's only morning sickness. I'm not too weak to walk on my own."

“I saw how much you were struggling. The doctor mentioned that eating something sour might help, so I've had someone prepare a glass of lemonade for you. Eat what you want and leave the rest."

She nodded and settled into the chair Nikolas had pulled out for her.

Then, she suddenly thought of Siena and asked, “Did you keep your promise and let go of Siena?"

When his ex-girlfriend was brought up, Nikolas's face hardened.

“I did what you asked. How could I not?"

"I understand your point. You want to demonstrate your loyalty to me by making an example of her. But isn't that too harsh for Siena? She truly loves you."

Nikolas's brows knitted together. "But I don't love her. And she dared to confront you. Our relationship is strained because of Siena, isn't it?"

He vividly recalled the days he felt utterly lost as if his heart had been torn out, unable to rise from the depth of his pain.

When he found out Aimee was pregnant, he was overjoyed. However, the news of her planned abortion left him heartbroken.

It made him feel as if he were being choked.
