Chapter: 1134
Kiley's gaze fixed on Bethany in sheer disbelief.

With an expression as unreadable as a stone face, Bethany pivoted and retreated to her office.

The security guards, drawn by the rising tide of commotion, soon appeared. “What's going on here?"

“Nothing to see here," someone quickly interjected. “Just a little office spat."

Some of the bystanders deftly ushered the guards away, while others scrambled to tend to the dazed Kiley.

“Kiley? Kiley? Are you okay?"

“Still shocked from the blow? Kiley?"

After what felt like an eternity, Kiley finally snapped back to reality, her senses slowly returning.

"Where is Ms. Holt?"

"She went back to her office." A female colleague discreetly pointed towards Bethany's office. "I know you're not her biggest fan, but try to keep it under wraps. Creating a scene won't do any good. Just get back to work."

Kiley shook her head, biting her lower lip with determination. “I'm going to speak with her."

"Don't do it! If you make a scene, the guards will notify HR! And nothing good will come from that!"

“I. I need to apologize."

“What ?"

No one knew what Colt had whispered to Kiley on the phone. They were merely baffled by her sudden change in attitude.

Meanwhile, Bethany had barely settled into her chair when her phone erupted in a cacophony of buzzes and chimes.

As she fumbled for it, the ringing ceased abruptly.

Glancing at the screen, she was met with a barrage of missed calls and messages from Jonathan.

“What's going on, Bethany?"

“Bethany, talk to me."

"Bethany, pick up the phone. Let's talk."

“Bethany, text me back immediately."

“Bethany, answer the phone!"

The earlier commotion had drowned out her phone's ringing. She hadn't realized Jonathan had tried to reach her.
