"Yes," Nikolas replied, gently stroking Aimee's hair. He turned to Bethany and suggested, “It's noon. Let's all have lunch together."

Bethany shook her head. "I can't. I still have loads of work to do. The project here requires my attention. You two go ahead."

“Just join us! It will only take a little while," Aimee coaxed, aware of Bethany's busy schedule. “After lunch, Nikolas can help you out, right?"

She glanced at Nikolas. He nodded in agreement.

“Yes. I'll help you."
