Chapter: 1181
Had she not known it was Nikolas on the other end of the line, she might have mistaken him for Aimee.

Aimee often took action first and informed Bethany afterward on several occasions.

There had been several instances at Ensson Corporation where Aimee had acted decisively, booking trips while Bethany preferred to rest.

Aimee understood Bethany well. If given the choice, Bethany would typically decline and avoid commitments. But if arrangements were made without her input, she knew better than to back out.

Bethany considered it might be best to just join them at the resort.

There wasn't much time left before circumstances would prevent Bethany from spending time with Rowan and Nola alongside Jonathan. If Jonathan found a girlfriend or even got married, her opportunities to see him would diminish significantly.

Perhaps buoyed by the prospect of the next day off, the mood in the department was upbeat, and everyone worked efficiently and cheerfully.

They were all deeply engrossed in their tasks.

The assistant delivered several reports to Bethany, all meticulously organized and requiring little to no revisions.

As the workday drew to a close, cheers erupted from outside Bethany's office before she could shut down her computer.

“Let's head to the barbecue!"

"I'm going to beat Colt at the games today!"

"Yes, and I'm ordering ten plates of beef!"

Bethany appreciated the vibrant work culture at Bates Group.

She quickly gathered her belongings and joined her colleagues.

Everyone reached the restaurant by taxi or car.

Colt arranged for Bethany to sit next to Kiley. She knew that he wanted to smooth over any awkwardness between her and Kiley.

She didn't really have any issues with Kiley.

She found workplace disputes to be pointless.

“Here, Bethany. Allow me to toast to you!"

“No, I..."

But seeing Colt already lifting his glass, Bethany suppressed her initial reluctance and responded, “Okay! Colt, thank you for your thoughtfulness and the team's efforts. Here's to the success of our projects!"

Bethany stood and drained her glass, her cheeks turning pink almost immediately.

Once Bethany had taken that initial sip of wine, it was as if she had unlocked a floodgate. The wine flowed freely, and she found it impossible to resist another glass.
