Chapter: 1187
“Come on, be a good girl. Take it before you fall asleep again."

Realizing she was at least somewhat aware, Jonathan fetched the hangover medicine and propped her up from the bed.

"I don't want it."

The medicine reeked, and Bethany resisted, pushing it away with a scowl.

Jonathan's firm grip kept it from falling.

“Just take it, and I'll bring you some water. You can manage this."

“I said no! Why are you so annoying? Just go away!" Bethany shot back, irritation flashing in her eyes.

With his attempt to feed her the medicine thwarted, Jonathan laid her back down and returned to the computer.

A few minutes later, Bethany sprang upright in bed, startling even Jonathan.

“What's wrong?" he asked, alarm creeping into his voice.

“Who are you?" She squinted, her finger pointing aimlessly in his direction.

“I'm Jonathan."

"You are not! He's in Ferindel. Stop lying to me!"

Jonathan rubbed his temples in frustration.

If he could, he'd retrieve Bethany's glasses from her bag and put them on her.

“I don't live in Ferindel forever. I finished my work and came back."

Hearing this, Bethany blinked, her eyes slowly coming into focus.

“What? You are really Jonathan?"

"Yes, I am." He nodded, then turned to retrieve the medicine once more. "Take this, and then you can go back to sleep."

"I'm not doing that!"

Her swift response came with a hint of indignation, her flushed cheeks betraying her state of drunkenness.

"Then how can I persuade you to take it?"

"Only if you prove you're really Jonathan."

Jonathan had never faced a predicament like this before.
