Chapter: 131
Bethany let out a sigh of relief. Just as she was about to switch off her camera and stretch, Jonathan said, "Regarding the new car technology project discussed earlier, the proponent should come to see me."

“Are you referring to Jayson Watson's project?" Brody inquired.

"Yes."

“Alright! Bethany Holt, please get in touch with Mr. Bates."

Bethany was taken by surprise. With everyone watching, she quickly affirmed her response.

After exiting the video meeting, Bethany stared at Jonathan's profile for a few seconds. She hesitated to initiate a connection.

She felt a bit scared and embarrassed.

Just moments ago, the meeting was crowded, and she could fade into the background as someone of little consequence. But now, she faced the daunting task of speaking with him alone.

Bethany hoped that her computer would malfunction at that moment.

She despised herself for being such a coward.

After repeatedly standing up and sitting back down, Bethany took a deep breath and sent the request to connect.

It took almost a minute before Bethany got through to Jonathan.

He didn't turn on his camera, so Bethany could only hear his voice.

“I've just reviewed Jayson Watson's project. The due diligence is inadequate. The data concerning the mass production of cars is too vague. It's soliciting funds while still in the experimental phase. That's quite risky."

Bethany cleared her throat and responded promptly, “There is certainly a risk, which I noted in the report. However, most of the relevant patents have been officially approved. This attests to its feasibility. According to our investment analysis, if it secures a mass production license, the potential profits and returns could be substantial."

“But it's still essentially at the conceptual stage. If actual production fails, we could lose the entire investment."

“That won't happen! Mr. Watson has assured me that they've already constructed an actual vehicle. Beyond just the videos of the conceptual cars, he's very confident about this model."

“Bethany Holt."

Jonathan suddenly addressed her by her full name, emphasizing, "This is about work."

Bethany was momentarily lost for words.

"What our company needs is a significant reduction in risks, not just the project initiator's confidence."

Bethany bowed her head, speechless.

Indeed, she realized she often gauged the risk of a project based on her impression of the person involved.

"And what's between you and him?" Jonathan's tone was low, edged with a hint of accusation.
