Chapter: 135
How could Maddie pose such a personal question without any hint of embarrassment?

Bethany found it absurd.

Jonathan had harbored feelings for Maddie for many years, and now, it seemed Maddie reciprocated those feelings. So why was Maddie asking her about Jonathan's underwear size?

Additionally, considering it was late at night in Watimere, Bethany couldn't help but speculate about what Jonathan and Maddie were up to, which necessitated a change of underwear.

"I'm sorry. I don't know," Bethany replied.

Frustrated, she turned off her phone and set it aside to avoid further distractions during her work.

Meanwhile, in a suite at a five-star hotel in Watimere, Jonathan had just wrapped up his work for the day and was preparing to change the dressing on his wound before going to sleep.

Suddenly, a knock at the door interrupted him.

With a stern look, he cracked open the door.

It was Maddie.

"Jonathan, remember when you were discharged from the hospital, the doctor instructed you to change the dressing every 36 hours. It's difficult for you to reach the wound on the back of your leg, right? Let me help you."

"No. I could ask a hotel employee to assist me."

She smiled. “You're a stickler for cleanliness. I doubt you'd want them handling your medication."

She was correct.

Jonathan hadn't planned on that.

But he had never considered asking Maddie for help.

"I can manage on my own."

Observing his cold and distant demeanor, Maddie felt a pang of sadness.

"After all these years, can't you even see me as a friend?"

It was the first time she had broached the topic of their relationship.

Jonathan's parents had repeatedly tried to bring them together.

However, Maddie was aware that Jonathan didn't have romantic feelings for her. So she provided comfort to his parents and stood by him as a friend.

"We are friends and good colleagues," he responded, always polite yet distant.

With a forced smile, Maddie asked, "In your eyes, am I just like Bethany?"
