Chapter: 153
She dashed into the bathroom without taking any clothes with her.

As Jonathan watched her retreat, his lips curled into a small smile.

She truly was one of a kind.

Inside the bathroom, Bethany wished she could just vanish down the drain.

This was not how she envisioned things unfolding. How did it end up with him finishing his shower and then her taking one right after?

Weren't they supposed to be discussing the termination of their marriage?

Maddie had even bought his underwear-how could they not be back together?

Bethany paced back and forth in the bathroom until she heard Jonathan's voice from outside.

"Dinner's here."

"Oh, okay, I'll be right out." She clenched her fists, swung open the bathroom door, and saw Jonathan by the doorway, his eyes sizing her up.

"Didn't you shower?"

"I think it's time we had a serious conversation, don't you agree?"

Jonathan nodded, his expression unchanging. "Yes. Let's discuss it over dinner."

He led the way to the dining area and pulled out a chair for her.

Taking a deep breath, Bethany sat down and said, “Regarding our marriage, I think you should rethink it!"

Jonathan stopped cutting his steak and looked up, an eyebrow raised.

"Now that your mother's surgery is complete, you don't need me anymore?"

"No, that's not what I'm saying!"

“Bethany, you must understand that, since you've signed the contract, you're expected to fulfill it."

If she wanted a formal discussion, he was ready.

“However, if you're set on terminating the contract, I will have my lawyer reach out tomorrow to discuss the penalties for breach."

Penalties for breach?

Bethany was shocked and said, "Aren't you the one who wants to end our contract?"

Why was she facing a breach penalty? She hadn't even demanded any compensation.
