“Exactly! Who could possibly live here?" The old lady laughed in response to Bethany's comment. "There isn't even a bathroom! How would anyone manage?"
Bethany chuckled too. "Oh, I must have been distracted. I didn't think that through!"
The old lady waved off the concern with a laugh. "Us older folks can hardly keep up with what the young ones are up to these days. The owner buys properties just to put in cameras, not to actually live in them. It's as though they think we might sneak in to steal something. But really, there's nothing inside but dirt and dust."
Bethany knew better, though. She suspected this building was where Ryan had stashed the antidote. Yet considering the building had two apartments per floor, with eleven floors, that made twenty-two apartments. It was impossible to search them all by herself.
