Nikolas’ lower lip protruded slightly. "Don't let Jonathan's apparent disdain fool you. I still hold a special place in his heart!"

As if seeking validation, Nikolas winked at Jonathan. "Right, Jonathan?"

Without hesitation, Jonathan turned to face Bethany. "Believe me, there's absolutely nothing between him and me."
