Chapter: 2010

Bethany felt that she had just powered up her laptop when Jonathan emerged from his shower. She checked her phone-twenty minutes had slipped by.

"Bethany." Jonathan approached, clad in a dark bathrobe, his piercing gaze fixed on her.

Quickly, she shut her laptop and offered a squinted smile. "It was just a file from the project. I was taking a quick look!"

Whether Jonathan believed her or not was unclear, but he didn't pursue the matter. Instead, he approached her, toweling off his still-wet hair. "Once the baby arrives, there won't be a new room unless we clear out the guest room."

Bethany found his statement amusing. "Listen to yourself! We have no new room? Did you forget about the large room we set up for Nola and Rowan as a playroom? We could easily turn that-"
