“Ah, but remember our deal? You agreed I could call the shots if you had another child." Jonathan's voice lifted playfully. Now that the baby's on the way, are you backing out?"

A sheepish laugh escaped Bethany. "Wouldn't dare dream of it."

"One more thing," he added. "The assistant I've assigned is highly competent. Don't hesitate to lean on him for any challenges.”

Her brow furrowed slightly. "Understood."

After ending the call, Bethany made her way to the assistant's office.
