"Mia, the renovations on our house are still going. Whether or not you want it, that place is going to be ready. The wedding planning hasn't stopped, and it's not going to. Nothing has changed."

His tone was so casual, as though he were merely discussing the weather.

Mia turned her face away, refusing to meet his gaze. "Your money, your decision. Do whatever you want. Just leave me out of it."

"But you'll be my wife. Who else would I tell about it?"
