Chapter: 332
“Bethany, don't you want to know what @825 means?"
Jonathan raised his finger and slowly pulled open his shirt collar, revealing the numbers tattooed on his skin.
“August 25th was the first day we became seatmates."
Hearing this, Bethany was stunned.
"I saw you walking towards me with your schoolbag, and for the first time, I heard my heartbeat so clearly. I forced myself not to Look at you. It wasn't until class ended that I noticed my palms were sweaty."
Jonathan's voice was deep and captivating, and he spoke these words slowly and affectionately.
Bethany couldn't speak; all she could do was shed tears, unsure of what to do or even where to place her hands.
She stared at him blankly, feeling teardrops fall from her eyes, one after another...
“You're crying." Jonathan gently wiped her tears away. “Bethany, you still love me, don't you? Don't divorce me, okay?"
Bethany knew this was the last time Jonathan would ask her that question.
He had bowed his head so many times before. His pride had been compromised repeatedly by her actions. It wasn't right to keep trampling on his dignity. She didn't want him to continue this way.
“Jonathan, please stop asking."
“Okay, I won't ask anymore."
He signaled to the officiant, and the wedding ceremony commenced.
There were no guests, no relatives or friends-just the two of them and the officiant.
Bethany couldn't bring herself to look at Jonathan's face. She just wanted to get everything over with, not just the wedding.
"Now, the groom may kiss the bride."
The officiant closed his eyes and began to pray for them.
Jonathan gently placed his hands on her cheeks and kissed her passionately.
The kiss was long.
It lasted so long that Bethany felt her lungs starved of air.
As he continued, she finally heard Jonathan whisper in her ear, “Bethany, I hate you."
Hate her?
Perhaps he should.
