Chapter: 350
"Aimee." Bethany interjected her. "It's been three years, and I was the one who suggested we split up."
It was only natural for him to move on.
She had felt a complex swirl of emotions when she first heard about Jonathan's marriage.
Yet, she had come to terms with it.
Having been the one to end things, she questioned why she should feel sad now.
They were never meant to be in the same world; he was merely returning to his rightful place.
"Fine, fine, you're correct." Aimee sighed. “Honestly, I thought you'd regret it after the breakup. As you were heading into the delivery room, I expected you to reach out to Jonathan."
If she were Bethany, she would have wanted to speak to the most significant person in her heart at such a crucial moment.
At that time, Bethany had endured a challenging labor and had hemorrhaged. When the doctor requested her to sign the paperwork, Aimee was terrified and broke down in tears outside the delivery room.
Aimee found it to be the most challenging signature she had ever made.
"I've chosen to leave him to find out the truth about my mother's death, so I won't regret it," Bethany said seriously.
It would be unfair to Jonathan.
“So what are your plans for Rowan? You can't keep him overseas forever."
At the mention of Rowan Holt, her son, Bethany appeared concerned.
She furrowed her brow and sighed. “Aimee, I do this because—"
Aimee interjected, “I understand why you do it, but it's not a long-term solution!"
"I know." Bethany affirmed with a nod.
She knew the benefits and drawbacks better than anyone, and no one comprehended the sorrow and yearning she had endured.
She worried the most about keeping Rowan overseas.
Aimee approached and gently patted Bethany's shoulder. “Bring him back. There are plenty of other ways to ensure his safety besides keeping him abroad."
Aimee observed Bethany's gaunt face, recognizing the hardship she had endured.
"I'll consider it! Now that both you and Nola are here, why not stay a couple of days? The best hotel in Westsilver is Dreamer Hotel. I can arrange a room for you here. I hadn't heard that anyone from Bates Group was coming to Westsilver, so everything should be fine."
Bethany held Nola close, unwilling to part with her. Nola was her beloved daughter.
Now that Aimee and Nola were here, they could stay a few days.
