Chapter: 428
"Of course. You have to go and find him. You're lucky to have someone who loves you so much. There are very few guys in the world who are this considerate and caring. Don't miss out."

Bethany's lips trembled, and she finally lifted her head and said in a hoarse voice, "If he comes here again, don't tell him I was here."

Bettie's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Why not?"

Taking a deep breath, Bethany explained, "The two of us can never be together. I want him to forget about me and move on."

Bettie shook her head, unable to understand. "Why can't you be together? As long as you both care for each other, there's nothing you can't overcome. Look at me and my husband. We fight all the time and even bring up divorce, but we're still together after all these years."

Bethany lowered her gaze and shook her head. “The problems we have can't be overcome. And besides, he's marrying someone else."

She wished that the only things standing between her and Jonathan were petty arguments and trivial matters.

"What a shame. I always thought you two were a perfect match.”

Letting out a sigh, Bettie got up to bring Bethany the food.

Bethany didn't know how she got through the meal.

She cried so much that she couldn't tell if the bowl in front of her was filled with soup or her own tears.

As she gazed at the photo of Jonathan on her phone, her fingers traced over his face again and again.

In the photo, he looked thinner than usual, as if he was not eating well these days.

The sparkle in his eyes also seemed to have vanished. Was it because of her?

After finishing her meal, Bethany stood up to pay, but Bettie waved her off and said, "No need! It's my treat. I mean, that guy helped us because of you, so we owe you. Come and visit when you can, okay?"

“Please take the money," Bethany insisted. “I'll come here often."

Seeing how persistent she was, Bettie reluctantly accepted the money.

"Alright then! I'll see you soon."

Bethany stepped out of the restaurant, but hesitated and turned around again to remind Bettie. "Please don't tell him I was here.”

As she walked away, she could hear Bettie's sigh.

Bettie was probably the only person in the world who genuinely wished that Bethany and Jonathan could be together.

After leaving the restaurant, Bethany wasn't in the mood to return to the hotel, so she just let her feet carry her where they wished.

She was quite familiar with the roads of Brokdon. She had walked along this route countless times during her school days.

Thinking about it now, she realized that Jonathan must have often watched her from afar.
