Chapter: 437
She was outspoken, simple, and naive, clearly a girl who had grown up cherished and loved by her parents.
Without prior notice, Bethany sent Jaden to the Department of Industry and Commerce, hoping to catch them off guard and gather some real information.
Since Liza was still recovering from acute gastroenteritis and was not adept at networking, Bethany instructed her to rest in the hotel.
Liza was to be available for calls if her assistance was needed.
Bethany proceeded alone to Owlimited Company for a background check.
She was greeted by a young man in a suit and polished shoes, who was slightly older than her. His perpetual smile gave her the impression he was quite shrewd in business dealings.
“Our leaders are very keen on our partnership with Goldwald Company. I'm looking forward to a successful collaboration."
Bethany replied with a smile, “That's a shared aspiration! Owlimited Company has a long-standing reputation here in Brokdon and is a respected company. It's truly an honor for us to collaborate with you."
The man returned the smile and extended his business card. "My name is Brenden Lewis, and I am the project manager here."
“Pleased to meet you! I'm Bethany Holt."
After some initial pleasantries, it was time to focus on business.
Brenden suggested discussing the details over dinner at a restaurant.
Given the incident at Ensson Corporation, Bethany was cautious about going to a restaurant with a man without careful consideration.
If such an incident were to occur again, she couldn't count on Jonathan being there by chance to help.
“I think a restaurant might be a bit noisy. How about we plan a dinner after work?" Bethany thought it would be safer to invite Jaden and Liza along.
Brenden agreed without objection. "Okay, that sounds good."
They proceeded to the meeting room where Bethany outlined all of Goldwald Company's terms. As the discussion touched on financial interests, Brenden's expression turned serious.
Yet, as a representative of Goldwald Company, it was Bethany's responsibility to maximize the company's benefits.
“I'll need to discuss your proposals with my superior. Ms. Holt, how long will you be in Brokdon?"
“I'll return to the company once our cooperation is finalized. There's still much to do back home." Bethany's implication was clear: she was here in good faith, and if the deal fell through, it would not be due to a lack of effort on Goldwald Company's part.
Brenden chuckled. "Then I'll speak to my leader as soon as I can!"
After finishing his statement, he handed Bethany another manila envelope. "By the way, take a look at this! This contains performance data from other companies involved in the reprocessing of agricultural products. You can see, the industry holds great potential. Nowadays, supporting agriculture is a priority for the government, and many initiatives are fast-tracked, you understand."
She did understand.
How could she not?
