Chapter: 439
Just as Jonathan was about to continue, his phone screen Lit up.
He coughed lightly and announced, "Let's conclude the meeting for today."
The shareholders exchanged looks but accepted his decision without further question.
After closing the company's conferencing app, Jonathan picked up his phone and returned the missed call.
“Mr. Bates, I've reviewed Goldwald Company's recent projects. In addition to the resort development in Westsilver, they are involved in several real estate ventures—"
"Is there any project in Brokdon?" Jonathan cut in.
Brody hesitated for a moment. "Let me check... Yes, there's a project involving the deep processing of agricultural products in partnership with Owlimited Company. It hasn't been signed yet, and the investment is modest, under fifty million. Are you interested in this project?"
"No, don't touch this project, and make sure no one else does either,"
Jonathan instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Brody felt a wave of confusion wash over him.
His boss's orders were clear, yet the reason behind them remained a mystery.
"Understood. I'll make sure it stays under wraps." Brody then shifted to his next report. "About Jaden Smith, the guy you asked me to Look into-he's an assistant in Goldwald Company's project department. He recently joined them and graduated from Sidewoch University with top grades."
Jonathan's eyes narrowed. “Is he single?"
Brody was caught off guard by the question.
He had assumed Jonathan's interest in Jaden was professional, perhaps considering him for Bates Group.
“He should be," Brody answered, thinking of Jaden's young age and recent graduation.
"I need facts, not guesses."
"Give me ten minutes, sir."
Jonathan ended the call and rubbed his forehead, trying to dispel the irritation brewing inside him. Seeing Bethany with Jaden the previous night had unsettled him.
Wasn't she supposed to be with Jayson? How did Jaden fit into the picture?
Jonathan recalled overhearing their plans to return to the hotel together, which only added to his annoyance.
Jonathan quickly typed a message to Bethany.
"Ms. Holt, sorry to bother you again. I'm lost. Can you take a voice call?"
Bethany's response came almost instantly. "Not convenient right now. I'm discussing business with a partner at a restaurant. Can you wait?"
